UFC 307 Reaction

Was super stoked when they announced this event in SLC. While I knew the UFC would be coming to Salt Lake in late 2024, this was not the main event I was expecting. Alex Pereira had just come off two amazing knockouts earlier in the year and I found it hard to believe he would be headlining his third pay-per-view in only 7 months. It was an extremely welcome surprise and an equally surprising challenger. While Khalil Rountree was surely a popular name in the light heavyweight division, his performances left many wondering if he really deserved the title shot. Prior to being booked against Pereira, Rountree was on a 5 fight winning streak with 4 KOs and the most recent being against Anthony Smith (lol) in December of 2023. Not exactly the credentials that warrant a title shot but I wasnt complaning as this fight was guaranteed electricity and surely saved us fans in Utah from a Pena vs. Pennington main event which ended up getting slotted into the co-main (thank god).
